This course explains what the 3 Vs of data mean, along with information on the complexities introduced by distributed data. It looks into the challenges companies now face as they strive for fast and secure data access, management, storage and system performance in this data onslaught across edge, cloud, and colo servers and systems. To conquer the intricacies and lightning speeds of distributed data, people are incentivized to move away from an infrastructure-centric focus to a data-first focus. This course examines how they are doing that, and outlines some definitions to key terms.
